Now that your book has been generated, you get to dive into the fun part; making it truly and uniquely yours!
Step 1:
Click on the image for the page you want to edit, or click on the edit button, directly below that page.
Step 2: Select the panel you want to work on by clicking on its image in the editing window.
Step 3: Get familiar with the prompts.
Each panel editing window is broken down an Edit tab and a Generate Tab
The Edit tab is the best place to add a simply worded instruction, such as "make the girl's shirt yellow).
The Generate tab is where you will find the detailed full scene prompt that contains the directions for the AI to produce the desired image including caption, dialogue and sound effects.
This is also where you will find the Characters, Locations and Recurring Items icons.
Let's go through each section, one by one.
Scene:
This is a brief description of what is occurring in this specific panel. Generally it will include a description of the mood or atmosphere, describe where each character is positioned and what they are doing. You can also add details, and make some corrections by adding directions to this general scene prompt. For example, the AI will sometimes forget to generate shoes for a character, so you might need to write in something like, "main character is wearing their cowboy boots", or if you want to change the color of a car in this scene, you could write in, "The color of the vehicle in this panel is red, not black." etc.
Character appearance:
This is a list of which characters are present in the scene followed by a straight forward instruction for the AI to use the reference image as its basis for the illustration.
Click on the Characters icon to see who is selected to appear in this panel.
To change who is included in the panel, simply click/unclick on their character.
IMPORTANT NOTE
When making any changes to characters, always make sure that the list of characters in the Character Appearance section matches up with characters that are selected under the Character icon. If the selection and the prompt don't match, this can lead to random AI errors, like duplicate characters, the wrong person speaking or a character being rendered in a completely different way.
Location:
Click on the Locations icon to see where the action is taking place.
To change where the panel is taking place, simply click/unclick on the desired location.
Visible recurring items:
Click on the Items icon to see what special item is selected to appear in this panel.
To change who what is included in the panel, simply click/unclick on the item.
Speech: This will show you who is speaking and what they are saying. Change dialogue here.
Caption: Some panels include a brief scene description in a yellow caption box. Change what the caption says by changing this prompt.
Sound effects: Some panels include a sound effect. Change the sound effect by changing this prompt.
Once you have fine tuned your prompt, you will need to click on Regenerate and waited for the newly generated image to appear (this can take several minutes). The save button will only engage if you then click on the new image to select it. If you don't click on the new image to select it, the system keeps the original design for that page as the default.
If you are not happy with the results, you can further edit the prompt, or simply click on regenerate again. Each time new regeneration costs 1 generation credit. Please keep in mind however that AI is still an unpredictable technology, so you may need to regenerate certain images more than once in order to get a result that more closely matches your desired out. It's really all just a matter of trial and error. The AI will never produce the exact same image twice, even when given identical instructions, so have fun!
Important reminder
After placing your order, you get a 4-hour window in which to make edits to your book. After 4 hours, your book will automatically get sent to be printed. Once printing begins, the file for your book becomes permanently locked and no more changes will be possible.
Need more time? No problem!
Manually pause your book file at any point before the 4-hour window closes and your book will then stay paused as long as you like!
Once you are ready to go to print, simply click on the "Send to Print" button, located at the top of your screen.
